SETI@Homehttp://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu

SETI is a scientific program, which searches intelligent alien lifeforms or indicated clues in space, mostly with radio astrological methods.  They’re looking for signs that cannot occur in nature, so their term of existence is Intelligence.  The GRID system is being used to process the huge amount of data.

The project is in connection with the development of the digital encrypting algorithms.  Technology must be enhanced with the computers’ expanding computing capacity. Longer keys must be used, in order to prevent the crack of the encryption with brute force.

Cancer research – www.grid.org/projects/cancer/
In the framework of the Intel-UD Cancer Research Project the anti-cancer effect of more than 100 million molecules are being rated in a computer model. This model examines the molecules’ effect on four proteins that have keyrole in the conformation of leukemia.

The project’s objective is to solve the structure and function of the proteins encoded in the human genome.

Einstein@Homewww.physics2005.org/events/einsteinathome/

The essence of Einstein@home is that it tries to detect the gravitational fluctuation from periodic sources, the pulsars. And what does pulsar mean? In fact these are imprints from certain events stretching in space. (like „waves” of an earthquake on Earth) For example the collapse of a black hole, supernova explosion.  Albert Einstein in his Theory of Relativity presumes their existence, however the technique to prove it only exists today.

Econet.hu Plc. have won another proposal

The consortium led by econet.hu Plc. had got significant support in the frames of the 2005. Jedlik Ányos Programme. In the centre of the supported project stands econet.hu Rt’s Global Desktop Grid (GDG) technology, which can be used to efficiently solve tasks what need huge computing capacity. The expendable support exceeds the 100 million forints. This sum of money can be used to employ the technology (which already have big professional responses) outside the closed milieu of laboratories or enterprises.

Econet.hu Plc. have made a successful proposal

The consortium wherein econet.hu Plc. have participated made a successful proposal which covered the development of Regional University Knowledge Centers in the frames of the 2005.Pázmány Péter Programme. In the supported project the Grid technology -ensured by econet.hu Plc.- gets a prominent role as an application for the tasks which need huge computing capacity. For the development and employment of this technology, the tender’s budget offers way above 10 million forints.
